Our staff brings excellent communication skills and extensive and varied research experiences to California Neuroscience Research. Their experience, passion, and teamwork are crucial to our success. All staff are trained in ICH/GCPs and maintain the highest ethical standards. Our Board Certified physicians/investigators work closely with our research coordinators to create a high quality research experience for patients and sponsors alike.
Thomas M. Shiovitz, M.D. – Dr. Shiovitz has over 15 years of clinical research experience, including 7 years as Medical Director of California Clinical Trials in Beverly Hills and International Clinical Trials in London. He has been a Principal Investigator on scores of successful CNS clinical trials and an investigator on over 300 studies in indications such as Alzheimer’s Disease, Schizophrenia, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Social Phobia, Panic Disorder, Major Depression, Insomnia, and Migraine. Dr. Shiovitz brings expertise in study design and a wealth of experience in clinical trial execution. He is Board Certified in Psychiatry (1989) and in Geriatric Psychiatry (1996, 2006) and an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at UCLA. Maria I. Seliverstov, M.D. – Dr. Seliverstov is Board Certified in Psychiatry (2003) and Geriatric Psychiatry (2006). She has been a sub-investigator on multiple clinical trials in indications including Alzheimer’s Disease, Mild Cognitive Impairment, Insomnia, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Migraine, and Major Depression since completion of her Fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry from UCLA in 2002. N. Bailey Manlosa, M.A., Sr. CCRC – Ms. Manlosa obtained a master’s degree in Psychology at California State University, Los Angeles. She has over 6 years of research experience and coordinated several studies in Primary Insomnia, Major Depression and Alzheimer’s Disease. She is trained in psychometric assessments such as MMSE, CIBIC, ADAS-COG, ADCS-ADL, NPI, HAM-D as well as other clinical assessments for psychiatric and geropsychiatric indications. Bailey has coordinated top enrolling studies nationwide. Additionally, she has extensive advertising and recruitment experience.
Marlene E. Zarrow, M.Ed., Sr. CCRC – Ms. Zarrow obtained a master’s degree in Counseling and Consulting Psychology from Harvard University. She has been trained in over 15 psychometric and clinical assessments for psychiatric and geropsychiatric indications. With experience coordinating studies in Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Major Depression, Marlene has also been one of the top three enrollers nationwide in a Generalized Anxiety Disorder study.
Ani Martikyan, M.A., CCRC – Ms. Martikyan obtained a master’s degree in Psychology from Pepperdine University and is currently working on a second masters in Clinical Psychology. She has over 2 years of experience coordinating all phases of inpatient and outpatient clinical trials. A research coordinator and psychometrician at CNR, Ani has experience in more than 10 psychometric and neurocognitive assessments for psychiatric and geropsychiatric indications. In addition, she is certified in phlebotomy and IATA (transport of Dangerous Goods).
Tarannum Shaikh, CRC – Ms. Shaikh is responsible for coordinating all aspects of clinical trials, with over 5 years of experience in clinical research in all phases of inpatient and outpatient clinical trials. In addition to Healthy Volunteers, indications include, anxiety, depression, insomnia and schizophrenia. As a former Regulatory Compliance Assistant, Tara has experience submitting and maintaining regulatory documents. She is also trained in ICH/GCPs and is certified in IATA (Transport of Dangerous Goods) and phlebotomy.
Sarah Pachman, B.A., CCRC – Ms. Pachman graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology-Cognitive Sciences and has a certificate from California State University, East Bay in Clinical Research. Sarah is trained in Good Clinical Practices and is IATA and phlebotomy certified. She is responsible for patient recruitment, phone screening and advertising, as well as performing medical histories, vital signs, and ECG. She has been trained extensively in several protocols and coordinates all aspects of research studies such as Major Depressive Disorder.
Lilit Gevorgyan, B.S., CRC – Ms. Gevorgyan is a graduate in Physiology from the University of California at Los Angeles. She coordinates all aspects of clinical trials for indications such Major Depression. Additionally, she is trained in Good Clinical Practices, certified by the State of California as a Phlebotomy Technician I and is IATA certified. She is responsible for phlebotomy, patient recruitment, phone screening and advertising, as well as performing medical histories, vital signs, ECG and other study related procedures.
Lourdes Barreto, CRA – Ms. Barreto is a graduate of United Educational Institute as a certified Medical Assistant. She is responsible for assisting in protocol procedures including patient recruitment and screening, vital signs and ECGs, chart preparation and recording, conduct subject interviews and other study related procedures. Additionally, she has advertising and recruitment experience. She is trained in Good Clinical Practices, certified by the State of California as a Phlebotomy Technician I and is IATA certified.
