Study Description

An investigational medication or inactive placebo added to ongoing antidepressant treatment in patients with Major Depressive Disorder.

Length of study: up to 50 weeks

Number of office visits: up to 18 visits

Qualified participants will receive study medication and study-related services at no cost. In addition, participants will be reimbursed for time and travel.

Study inclusion/exclusion criteria

This study is only available to persons who:

• Read and understand English
• Meet criteria for Major Depressive Disorder
• Are currently being treated with escitalopram, citalopram, sertraline, fluoxetine, or paroxetine.
• Are 18 years or older and without serious health problems
• Do not have certain conditions such as Bipolar Disorder or substance/alcohol abuse
