Alzheimer's Disease

 

 

 

Study Description

A multinational, multicenter, randomized, double-blind, parallel-group, placebo-controlled study of the effect on cognitive performance, safety, and tolerability of  investigational medication for 24 weeks in patient with mild to moderate Alzheimer’s Disease on stable donepezil (Aricept®) therapy.

Length of study: up to 38 weeks

Number of office visits: up to 10 visits

Qualified participants will receive study medication and study related services at no cost. In addition, participants will be reimbursed for time and travel.

Study inclusion/exclusion criteria

The potential participant must:

  • Easily read and understand English
  • Be at least 55 years old
  • Be currently on a stable dose of donepezil (Aricept®, 5 or 10mg) for at least 4 months.
  • Not have serious eye problems
  • Not currently on excluded medications such as memantine (Namenda®) or thiazidie diuretics
